Supervisory Special Agent (SSA), Lance Rollins, Houston Field Office

Employed with the FBI for 19 years, assigned to 5 domestic offices and 1 international office to include several long-term foreign assignments. SSA Rollins has a bachelor’s degree in Finance and a minor in International Finance. SSA Rollins has investigated international terrorism, violent crimes, organized crime, political corruption, and various frauds. SSA Rollins oversees an investigative squad in Houston, TX field office that focuses on elected & appointed public official corruption and international corruption. SSA Rollins has worked on the FBI’s Evidence Response Team (ERT) and has been a part of several international terrorism crime scenes as an ERT Team Member. SSA Rollins will summarize the FBI’s structure and investigative authorities along with case examples relative to public corruption.

Miesha Weaver previously worked for Huntsman, SLB and more recently ExxonMobil. She brings industry experience and knowledge to the table and we look forward to the interaction.

Miesha Weaver is a dynamic public speaker, accomplished author, and dedicated oil and gas corporate professional. With a passion for inspiring others, she has become a prominent figure in the public speaking arena, captivating audiences with her motivational talks and insightful discussions on topics ranging from corporate leadership to personal empowerment.

She is a seasoned logistics expert with an impressive 16-year track record in the industry. With a wealth of experience in optimizing supply chain operations, streamlining logistics processes, and enhancing overall efficiency, she has established herself as a trusted authority in the field.

In her roles within the oil and gas industry, Miesha has demonstrated exceptional expertise and leadership. Her contributions to the field have not only earned her respect among her colleagues but have also paved the way for her to become a role model for aspiring professionals, especially women, in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

Throughout her career, Miesha has successfully managed complex logistics challenges for various organizations, ranging from small businesses to multinational corporations. Her expertise spans inventory management, transportation planning, warehouse optimization, and distribution strategies. She has a proven ability to identify bottlenecks, reduce costs, and improve overall logistics performance, earning accolades from clients and peers alike.

Miesha continues to shine both in her professional and personal life. Her story is a testament to resilience, determination, and the power of pursuing one’s passions while juggling the demands of parenthood. Through her work, she continues to inspire others to embrace their own journeys with courage and grace.

In her free time, she enjoys being a sport mom, traveling, volunteering with the local school district, horseback riding, parasailing and skydiving. In addition to her oil and gas career, she’s a fellow of Leadership ISD, a Court Appointed Child Advocate, a 2020 Conroe ISD School Board Candidate, and has served on many leadership boards as an advisor.


February 2024: Kurt Abraham, Editor-in-Chief & Chief Forecaster at World Oil

Kurt Abraham is Editor-in-Chief and Chief Forecaster at World Oil, which includes the magazine, website and other associated functions. He has 39 years of industry experience, of which 33 have been with World Oil and Gulf Energy Information. Kurt earned a degree in journalism and business administration from Texas A&M University. His past experience includes all four major media–magazine, newspaper, radio and TV, as well as the largest statewide producers’ association, Texas Alliance of Energy Producers. In addition to being a past President and member of National Oil-equipment Manufacturers and Delegates Society (NOMADS), Kurt is a member of IPAA and the Texas Alliance’s Supply and Demand Committee. He is also a Senior Advisor on the Energy Education Foundation’s Hall of Fame Advisory Committee. In addition, he is an expert commentator on oil and gas to the general media.


November 2023 Speaker: Collin Mclelland of Digital Wildcatters

Collin started his career in energy by roughnecking on oil rigs in West Texas. Over the next ten years, he worked in every major oilfield in the United States, managing drilling projects from the North Slope of Alaska to the deep waters in the Gulf of Mexico. Today, he’s the co-founder, CEO of Digital Wildcatters and is extremely passionate about helping founders disrupt the energy industry.


October 2023 Speaker: David Reid, RedM

David Reid, NOV Chief Technology Officer & Chief Marketing Officer

David’s life and career has focused on the development of people, business, technology and culture. He has been a pioneer and champion of strategic growth in technology, business models, machine design, and industrial digitization. He is a global public speaker on innovation, change, and leadership, as well as being an advocate in addressing modern slavery. David currently serves on the University of Houston Energy Advisory Board, the National Ocean Industries Association, and Redeemed, a trauma informed recovery program for sex trafficking survivors. He has served on the IntelliServ JV with Schlumberger and NOV, the IADC and SPE boards in the past.

David has written many published technical papers and magazine articles, with patents in drilling systems and automation. He has founded industry groups in technology, diversity and inclusion, a startup village, and RedM, a pro-bono crowdsourcing organization. A winning team member of the first Rockets and Rigs hackathon with a NASA patent-based start-up company, Permittivity, also serving as an advisor to their board.


NOMADS works with other major oil and gas associations and petroleum societies in the Houston area to disseminate knowledge about the international oilfield, to help those seeking jobs in the Energy Industry, and to foster friendships for energy professionals found across a range of disciplines in the international Oil and Gas Industries.
NOMADS holds monthly society meetings in Houston, Texas. Our members help each other find jobs in the energy industry, opportunities in the international energy industry, and share ideas on the current status of the global oil and gas markets.
